SWIFT Warsaw Business Forum

The third SWIFT Warsaw Business Forum, organised in cooperation with The Central Securities Depository of Poland (KDPW) will take place on 20 May 2015.

The theme for this SWIFT Business Forum is “Comply, create and innovate: strengthening Warsaw’s position as a financial hub for CEE.” The Forum will take a look at how far Warsaw has come on its journey to becoming the financial hub for the CEE countries and how far it still has to go. Speakers will delve into topics varying from the ambitions of Poland’s financial market to the specifics of the payments and securities landscapes and the steps that still lie ahead in Poland’s journey to become a key financial centre in Central Europe. From this Forum, you will gain insight on what is needed to further enable flows of capital both in and out of the market while also learning how Warsaw financial market participants will benefit.

At a time when regulatory pressure remains high, and complying efficiently and effectively is a priority for all financial market participants, what progress are Polish banks making in improving their efficiency and effectiveness in the area of financial crime compliance?
How are solutions to support banks in complying with financial crime regulation evolving to better meet their needs? And what is SWIFT doing to help its customers tackle the compliance challenge?
Dedicated payments and securities market infrastructure sessions will examine the latest trends in both of these important markets. In the world of payments, we will look at how the market has evolved since the introduction of SORBNET2 and what is in the pipeline for the months and years to come. We will also discuss the rise of real-time and mobile payments and look at the impact of ISO 20022 in Europe’s payments markets. On the securities side, we will look at the significant changes that the European securities landscape is undergoing and the development of the Polish securities market in that context.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to get an update on SWIFT strategy, products and services, and to network with your colleagues from across the Polish financial market.

The event offers a unique opportunity to hear from senior members of the financial industry in your region about a range of issues that are critical for the continued development and competitiveness of the Polish financial market – and to your institution’s ability to reap the benefits of change
